Vitkovec used to be a castle but nowadays the visitors can see only a part of that, seven metres high wall. The castle is set on the west edge of the Holandsky rybnik on a rock hill separated by an artificial moat and protective rampart. The castle is in this condition partly because of the close church in Holany which was built from materials from the ruined castle. Even today the visitors can see the loop-holes and many leaks after timbers.
